General Description

Place :
The 1st part of the module (first language) takes place in Angers. The second part (2nd language) takes place in the university which proposes the Viticulture module.

Duration and period :
5 weeks : two weeks for the 1st language in November of the year N, and three weeks for the second language between April and June of the year N+1.

Teaching objectives :
The general objective of this module is the acquisition by the student of the linguistic tools and ability to express him/herself in a professional situation.
Two foreign languages are studied during this module in addition to the mother tongue.

To achieve this goal the module is articulated around 2 different units of teaching, one by studied language.

Organisation in 2 teaching units (UE) :
UE 1 = first language : French for non native French speakers and English for native French speakers
UE 2 = depending on the year, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese or English.

Unit of Teaching 1 : French or English

OBJECTIVES :

-  Reinforcement end extension of basic structures and vocabulary
-  Acquisition of the specific language to the wine sector, and to the issues taught in the various modules
-  Passing an external French or English certificate (TFI : test de Français International/TOEIC : Test Of English for International Communication)

Teaching supports :

-  lectures and individual or collective exercises.
-  visit with adapted topic
-  specific classes for TFI/TOEIC preparation

Unit of Teaching 2 : second foreign language :

English, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese (depending on the mother tongue and the place where the module is organised)

OBJECTIVES :

-  Introduction to the language (if new) or
-  Reinforcementand extension of basic structure and vocabulary
-  Eventually, preparation for a certificate

Evaluation

A French or English certificate must be obtained for the DNM diploma to be awarded in addition of the validation of the language module :
-  TFI at 750 points,
-  TOEFL at 550 points,
-  TOEIC at 750 points

Validation of academic assets

LV1 The Pedagogic Committee of the Master established for each student languages ​​to be studied in LV1 and LV2 according to his/her level in these two languages. As French can only be learned in France, all students who do not have the output level (TFI 750) will study French in LV1.

LV2 Validation : Students who can produce a certificate of language (whatever the result of this test) Italian, Spanish or Portuguese (depending on the language taught in LV2), will be exempted from the course and see their module LV2 validated only if students wish and request for it, otherwise they will participate to the module as planned. They will have the opportunity to do an optional internship during the module LV2 either in a company of their choice, or in the laboratory of the host university module. The language certificate must match the language taught in the LV2 module which means intermedio for Spanish, CILS DUE for Italian or Celpe Arm for Portuguese validation (value of 6 ECTS).

Special cases

For students Spanish / Italian / Portuguese - speaking who have validated the French and English, we will not ask them to follow the course of LV2 in their mother tongue, but to produce a 5 pages report on a scientific subject in English or French (language different from LV1) following a 3 weeks optional internship and using specific technical and scientific vocabulary. Note that their report will mark their LV2 module.

The registration fees for the first test of the certificate in Groupe ESA are paid by the Master Vintage, in case of failure, the cost of a new passage will be the responsibility of the student.
