Airplanes of some low cost air companies land on another airport – the “Aurel Vlaicu” Airport. This one is closer to the city and the bus #783 mentioned above also stops there.

Here is no metro (subway) station in the immediate vicinity of USAMVB. Closest station is “Aviatorilor”, but from there you have to walk or take a bus. Subway, however, is very convenient and safe for moving around the whole city. A map of the metro network can be viewed here.

Cost of living per month

Housing

If you live in the students’ dormitory at the USAMVB you will need to pay 700 RON per month for one place in a room for two.

Renting a decent studio or apartment in the city can require anything between 250 and 500 EUR per month, based on location and facilities.

Transport

You can purchase a one-month pass valid for all buses, trams and trolleys, for 50 RON (approx. 13 EUR). Also, you can choose a general pass, valid for all the transportation means mentioned above, PLUS all the metro lines ; this will cost you 73 RON (approx. 18 EUR) for one month.

Food

Meals at the restaurant located in the university campus can cost between 2-3 EUR and 5-6 EUR. Generally, you might need a minimum of 250 300 EUR per month for food, depending on your needs and habits.

The first option is to try to find accomodation within the USAMVB campus. While rooms are small and facilities limited, the cost is low and you will be close to your place of study. Seek advice from the contact person of USAMVB for the VINTAGE master. Finding accomodation in the city may be difficult. As above, seek advice.
