The objective of the master course is to help students develop both technical and marketing skills on an international scale and to acquire in-depth knowledge in the fields of viticulture, oenology, terroir and wine marketing (wine terroir and firms).
The Ecole Supérieure d’Agricultures in Angers supervises the Vintage Master’s degree and co-delivers the National Master’s Degree in partnership with the University of Angers.
This 4 semesters course program leads to a Degree of Master of Science (MSc) or French DNM, but also to double degrees or conjoint degrees.
To help students meet these requirements, the teaching approach is based on close links between teachers in the partner universities and professionals in the wine sector, so that it can answer the needs of today’s global wine market.
Professionals play an active part in the course and case studies enable students to address current issues in the wine sector and to start defining their own professional project.
Course topics include:
- The relation between grape quality and wine quality – Influence of the terroir,
- Analysing training systems for producing quality grapes,
- Producing sustainable wines,
- Economic and marketing issues of wine markets,
- Strategies of the national and international wine sectors.
The Ecole Supérieure d’Agricultures – Angers – coordinates that Master training and awards both with the University of Angers the International Vintage Master degree.
Working adults or those those who wish to retrain to get a job in the wine sector can apply for a full-time on-site training to the International Vintage Master.
There is no distance-learning or block-release program for this course.

The « à la carte » module option
Each module is available « à la carte ». It does not lead to a degree but it can help students or company staffdeepen their knowledge in a specific area. Admission requirements are identical to those required for the Vintage Master.
